Participate in THE TAXI TAKES ON THE WORLD – An Online International Video and Film Festival

Through Flickr and Vimeo by uploading your images and videos about a great taxi experience!

I invite you to swipe out your smart phone and cameras the next time you start a conversation in a taxi in Beirut. I urge you to give your video Takes from Taxis in Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm, Egypt, London and any great city in the World. Ask your driver in France about what he thinks of the burkha or Obama. Upload your video and send us the link to become part of ‘The Taxi Takes on the World.’ Gritty, raw, real experiences from a cab anywhere in the World captured on your camera or smart phone will be accepted.

As of now we are using Flickr  and Vimeo to start a network to present your videos but once we get a platform up they will be presented there and also organized as an International Film Festival and Installation project. We are awaiting funding to create a larger interactive project along the lines of Out My Window and Waiting Room. For now a H.264 quicktime file that can be uploaded to youtube or Vimeo would be preferred. Physical DVD’s would be required later for the screenings.

Pass on this opportunity to others in your network!

HOST A SCREENING of The Taxi Takes

Get in touch if you would like to host a screening in your school, local church, Non Profit or organization. ‘The Taxi Takes’ has been widely screened all around the World to try and cross barriers and spark a conversation. The ideal format is a Q and A and moderated discussion after the screening with the audience. Maybe your organization or school can be the next venue! If you’d like Vandana can also be contacted to come give a short lecture and answer questions about the film and her experiences.

Please get in touch via email if you would like a DVD of the films.  We would be happy to mail it to you if you can cover shipping.

Have a look at these photographs and feel free to spread the word, download images and post on your own sites and blogs.

Send Vandana an email if you would like to get involved in any other way.
